Registering for Examinations at IACT
IACT provides examinations for all professional IT certification. To register for the CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco, Microsoft MCP and MCSE examinations you must register with us through the VUE test site.
Please note that all cancellations and rescheduling must also be carried out through VUEs test system – we have no control over the VUE booking system.

The examination environment
Examinations can be stressful and we make every effort to ensure that the exam environment is as comfortable and quiet as possible. Please do your part to ensure this when entering or leaving an examination. Exam rooms are monitored and video recorded as part of our audit and examination procedure.
What you should bring
Please bring at least two forms of identification. Most examinations require a Driving Licence or Passport as one form of photographic ID. You will not be permitted to bring anything into the examination with you. You will be provided with a pen and paper and calculator if required.
Examination registration and marking systems
Most examinations are electronically marked. Some examinations use a mixture of multi-choice questions, simulations and real application usage. Automated examination systems are not perfect. In particular VUE and Prometric manage thousands of different examinations which have differing requirements that change regularly.
Updates to their exam systems can occasionally break examinations that cannot be tested prior to the exam taking place. IACT have no control of the marking process for most of these examinations – these are managed by the certification authority. Examination results are uploaded to their servers after the examination and you should be able to access your reports through your login. Data protection rules prohibit from us accessing or changing this data.
Appeals
If you feel your examination was incorrectly marked please contact [email protected] outlining when you did the examination and please include your mobile phone number and e-mail address.
Trial examinations
Trial examinations are also available for all Diploma courses directly from your tutor.
Microsoft Office Specialist Examinations
The MOS examinations change regularly and the only real way of preparing effectively is to become a real expert in the products. Regrettably the syllabus supplied by Microsoft is vague and the examination regularly introduces new topics.
Gemetrix provide sample examinations that are useful in preparing to get used to the exam environment – however in our experience gaining even 100% in these examinations will not guarantee that you pass the real test.
Microsoft endorsed MOS Trial Examinations
Please be aware there are TWO versions of Excel and Word examinations from Microsoft. The EXPERT level qualification is substantially more difficult. IACT will provide candidates on request two substantial projects which when completed will expose you to the most important aspects of Word and Excel and will help prepare you for the examinations.
