A Completely New SharePoint Experience
From 3 March 2026, Microsoft began rolling out a completely redesigned SharePoint interface for all Microsoft 365 users. The new experience features a redesigned app bar organised around three core jobs: Discover, Publish and Build. Discover surfaces relevant content from across the organisation. Publish makes it easier to create and distribute news posts. Build exposes tools for creating sites, pages and automated workflows.
Microsoft also introduced the SharePoint Admin Agent — an AI-powered assistant that helps IT teams manage governance and security using natural language queries.
Five Major Teams AI Upgrades
- Meeting Notes for Instant Meetings: Powered by Microsoft Loop, participants can create agendas, capture notes and assign action items during any meeting.
- Meeting Recap to SharePoint: Teams meeting recaps can now be shared directly to SharePoint as a news post.
- Simplified External Collaboration Controls: A new overview page in Teams Admin Centre manages guest access with open, controlled or customised modes.
- External Domain Anomalies Report: Proactively flags unusual or risky interactions with external organisations.
- Workflow Automation from SharePoint and Teams: Approval workflows can now be created directly from within SharePoint or Teams without Power Automate licensing.
