Digital Video Editor Master

This master diploma course is designed to equip you with the skills needed to become a proficient digital video editor, utilising Adobe’s powerful suite of industry standard tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. You will begin by mastering Photoshop, where you’ll learn to edit and manipulate images, create stunning visuals, and develop assets that enhance your video projects.

Next, using Illustrator, you’ll explore vector-based design, gaining the ability to craft logos, icons, and other graphic elements that add a professional edge to your videos.

With a solid foundation in graphic design, you’ll then transition to Premiere Pro, where you’ll apply your skills to the world of video editing. You’ll learn to assemble and edit video clips, integrate your custom graphics seamlessly, and use advanced features like colour grading and motion graphics to create dynamic, engaging content.

By the end of the course, you will have developed a comprehensive skill set that allows you to create visually compelling videos from start to finish. You will also have completed a student based production project that will showcase your new skillset for creating stunning visuals and for producing audience winning video productions.

This course aims to teach students how to become proficient digital video editors using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. Students will learn to edit and enhance images in Photoshop, design vector graphics in Illustrator, and apply these assets in Premiere Pro to create cohesive and engaging video content.

The goal is for students to gain the skills needed to seamlessly integrate custom visuals and advanced editing techniques, resulting in polished, professional videos. By the end, students will be equipped with the technical expertise and creative tools to excel in digital video editing.

The course begins with two days dedicated to Illustrator, where students will learn to create and manipulate vector graphics, including logos, icons, and typography, while exploring AI features like Recolour Artwork and Image Trace.

The next two days focus on Photoshop, where students will enhance their skills in image editing, retouching, and graphic creation, utilising tools like Content-Aware Fill and Neural Filters.

The course then shifts to Premiere Pro for the final two instructional days, covering the essentials of video editing, from organising footage to adding transitions, effects, and incorporating AI-driven tools like Auto Reframe.

The last day is Round Up which is dedicated to a comprehensive in-class project, where students will apply their newly acquired skills in a real-world scenario. This project will involve creating a cohesive multimedia piece, such as a short promotional video—integrating vector graphics from Illustrator, enhanced images from Photoshop, and edited footage in Premiere Pro. The focus will be on seamless workflow integration across all three applications, creative problem-solving, and the practical use of AI tools to produce a polished, professional-quality final project.
